Abstract

The Forestry Research Institute of Ghana was contracted by the Centre for Internation Forestry Research (CIFOR) to review past technologies that have been applied in anglophone West Africa and incentives that should be put in place to ensure sustainable forest management. The report included; A review of silvicultural trials and practices in anglophone West -Central Africa covering principally Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra-Leone and Liberia and a review of the way such works applies to modern condition and how government and the forest department should takle forest management problems.
