Abstract

In Ghana, an important vehicle for increasing agricultural productivity is the provision of relevant and current agricultural information on time and in the right format to stakeholders. This paper discusses the role that the Ghana Agricultural Information Network System (GAINS) has played in disseminating agricultural information to farmers using radio. Recommendations have been made on how to improve information dissemination and to collaborate with other institutions, to provide agricultural information to improve agricultural productivity, food security and rural livelihoods in Ghana.
