Genetic Variability of Cassava Progenies Developed through Introgression of Cassava Mosaic Disease Resistance into Ghanaian Landraces
Availability of genetic diversity is important in selecting suitable cultivars for crop improvement. Progenies of crosses between 19 farmer-preferred cassava landraces and Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD)-resistant cultivar TME 11 were evaluated and compared with their maternal parents to assess their genetic variability and genetic gains based on CMD tolerance, some growth variables and root yield. -
Application of vertical electrical sounding for groundwater exploration of Cape Coast municipality in the Central Region of Ghana
The focus of this study is to delineate groundwater-bearing zones for the drilling of boreholes to ensure sustainable water supply in the Cape Coast municipality using the vertical electrical sounding (VES) technique -

The physico-mechanical influence of dehydroxylized activated local kaolin: A supplementary cementitious material for construction applications
This work presents the effect of partially replacing metakaolin with Portland limestone cement to produce mortars for construction. Teleku Bokazo kaolin was explored as a SCM in the production of mortars. -
Integrated water resources management in Ghana Past, present, and the future
This dissertation presents the development of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Ghana. It presents realistic experiences of the opportunities and constraints to the implementation of IWRM. -
Elimination within reach: A cross-sectional study highlighting the factors that contribute to persistent lymphatic filariasis in eight communities in rural Ghana
Background Despite the progress achieved in scaling-up mass drug administration (MDA) for lymphatic filariasis (LF) in Ghana, communities with persistent LF still exist even after 10 years of community treatment. -
Forest biomass, productivity and carbon cycling along a rainfall gradient in West Africa
Net primary productivity (NPP) is one of the most important parameters in describing the functioning of any ecosystem and yet it arguably remains a poorly quantified and understood component of carbon cycling in tropical forests, especially outside of the Americas. We provide the first comprehensive analysis of NPP and its carbon allocation to woody, canopy and root growth components at contrasting lowland West African forests spanning a rainfall gradient. -
